Hi there!
Since 2016, I’ve been the senior food editor at Southern Living, where I write and edit digital and print content about all aspects of Southern food and culture, from tomato sandwiches to the politics of potlikker. I work with the test kitchen and creative teams at Meredith Food Studios to develop, test, edit, and photograph hundreds of recipes each year. In 2018, Southern Living was nominated in the Home Cooking category at the James Beard Foundation Media Awards. And in 2019, the brand won a Culinary Travel Writing Award from the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
I’ve also been the features editor at Food Network Magazine, where I grilled pizza with Bobby Flay, harvested honey from Ted Allen’s rooftop, and visited Ree Drummond’s ranch. Before that, I was the digital food editor at iVillage, which was owned by NBC Universal and one of the first digital sites for women, and the style editor at BizBash Media, where I covered annual corporate events like the James Beard Foundation Awards and Food & Wine’s Best New Chefs. (And ate my weight in hors d’oeuvres.)
I’m a South Florida native and have a journalism/writing degree from the University of Central Florida. After living in New York City for 13 years, I now reside in beautiful Birmingham, Alabama with my family.
